Via Nature Deodorant

Julia Roberts confessed to Oprah Winfrey that she never uses it. Bradley Cooper said he’d rather take a shower. And Cameron Diaz hasn’t used it for 20 years. What are all these celebrities up in arm(pits) about? Toxic chemicals in antiperspirants and deodorants, which block odor but have been linked to health problems.

Brand-new, enzyme-infused, natural deodorants from Via Nature offer the best of both worlds: non- sticky, non-staining deodorants that neutralize odors without toxic chemicals. Via Nature natural deodorants combine three key elements of odor protection:

  1. A proprietary blend of naturally derived enzymes neutralize and fight odor-causing bacteria.
  2. Essential oils provide light yet effective natural fragrance.
  3. Magnolia bark and licorice root extracts stabilize long-lasting protection.

Free of artificial fragrance and gluten, Via Nature natural deodorants are vegan, cruelty-free, and never tested on animals. In roll-on ($5.99), stick ($6.99) or spray ($7.49), the formulations avoid aluminum compounds, parabens, phthalates, sulfates, synthetic dyes, triclosan and other petrochemicals. Unlike many other natural deodorant brands, Via Nature also eschews baking soda in roll-ons and sprays; baking soda can cause contact dermatitis—an uncomfortable skin reaction—in the delicate underarm area. Available in three unisex scents derived from essential oils—Rosemary Sandalwood, Sweet Orange Lemongrass and Lavender Eucalyptus—as well as Fragrance Free, Via Nature natural deodorants provide all-day protection and performance you can depend on. But remember, if you’re switching over from chemical to natural deodorant, you have to give your body at least two weeks to detox and get used to the difference.

TOXIC CHEMICAL BREAKDOWN

Technically classified as drugs by the FDA, chemical antiperspirants use aluminum compounds to create pore plugs that stop the flow of sweat. Similarly, chemical deodorants typically depend on synthetic fragrances to mask odors: “Fragrance” on a product label can mean hundreds of different chemicals, many of them phthalate-based hormone disruptors. Some deodorants and antiperspirants also contain triclosan, a pesticide that studies have shown compromises the immune system. Via Nature natural deodorants prove that these and other potentially toxic chemical ingredients are unnecessary.

I have very sensitive skin and I find that traditional formulas make my armpits itchy so I’ve been trying out natural versions. I think they work pretty well and don’t irritate me too!

I do not use natural deodorant. I do use Tom’s anti-perspirant. But every time I come across a post I always read it and research those products. I’m intrigued but scared. I hate to sweat under my arms. I believe most natural deodorants are for odor not sweating, yes? I visited Via Natural’s website and I liked what I saw….so maybe???

I use both. When the weather is very hot, sometimes I use normal one. The rest of the time, I use natural deodorant. I have more natural deodorant than the other type.

When choosing deodorant ti’s good to have an idea of which ones are free of harmful chemicals. There are a few out there. Better for your health in the long run. Not using it doesn’t work for most people.
