Cruelty Free Makeup Brushes Pur Cosmetics

SAMPLE

It’s easy to find synthetic makeup brushes, but not always easy to find GOOD QUALITY cruelty free makeup brushes! I recently had the pleasure of trying out the entire NEW range of PUR Minerals vegan brushes, and I am happy to report that these are top notch! Oftentimes synthetic brushes will be either too harsh or way too soft. Soft sounds good, but trust me – brushes can be soft, BUT they have to be densely packed enough to do their jobs. If the brushes are too soft and not packed well, they will splay out on your face and you won’t get the pigment where you want it. PUR makeup brushes are soft, but packed tightly, which is perfection!

PUR Makeup Brushes

Contour Foundation Brush – This brush is super densely packed, and tapered at the end. It lets you contour with cream or powder without smudging your foundation. Use the top of the brush to add pigment and the side of the brush to blend it so there are no harsh edges.

Contour Blending Brush – This is one of my must-have brushes! Use this flat-topped brush to blend your contour and highlight with small, circular motions. You can also use it to directly apply liquid, cream or powder foundation, cream blush, contour cream or highlight cream.

Powder Foundation Brush – Another must-have! Use this brush to apply powder foundation all over the face. I like to follow up with a smaller, denser brush (like the Contour Blending Brush, Blurring Concealer Brush and/or the Precision Crease Brush) to add extra coverage under the eyes, around the nose and on imperfections and dark spots.

PUR vegan makeup brushes

Blurring Powder Brush – This tapered brush lets you gently add blush, bronzer or highlighter right where you need it! It lets you build the color, so you don’t add too much at once (as a pale person, I appreciate that!).

Blurring Concealer Brush – Do you ever put on concealer, pat with your finger, and then realize you’ve taken off almost all of the concealer? Fingers come in handy when putting on makeup, but sometimes you want to use a brush to avoid the heat and oils from your hands. This domed brush lets you blend cream or powder concealer so it looks natural, and not like a giant spotlight on your acne or dark spots!

Blending Crease Brush – I use this brush to blend eyeshadow colors – particularly in the crease – so there’s no hard edges or obvious lines. You can also use it to add color to the crease, but for more definition, see the next brush!

Precision Crease Brush– This tapered, tightly packed brush is another favorite of mine. Use it to add a darker color to your crease, by using a windshield wiper motion or small, tight circles. Then use the Blending Crease Brush to blend it out.

Brow Sculpt & Groom Brush– You can use the tapered small brush to apply color to your brows or use it to apply gel eyeliner to your lids. Use the spoolie on the other end to groom those brows!

PUR Minerals Perfecting Body Brush

Perfecting Body Brush – You can use this large flat-topped brush to add powder foundation to your body (to even out spots), or to add a little contour or shimmer to your body. You can even try it for a light contour on your cheeks – just be sure not to overdo it!

Need a set and don’t know where to start? Try the PUR Pro Tools 5 Piece Brush Collection with Brush Roll. It comes with a Liquid Foundation Brush, All Over Powder Brush, Precision Blush Brush, Airbrush Eye Shadow Brush, Precision (angled) Liner Brush and a brush roll to keep them all together. At $39 for a $121 set, this is a great deal! Makes a great gift too!

I also love that PUR is partnering with Action Against Hunger, a global humanitarian organization committed to ending world hunger, to provide clean water and healthy food to those countries in need. For every Limited Edition Action Against Hunger Starter Kit sold, PUR will donate $1 to the nonprofit.

These brushes look nice but I prefer brushes that have really dense, soft bristles and hold mineral powder like a magnet until you’re ready to apply. Having the right tools really does make a huge difference with makeup application results. Lovely blog.

Those are nice looking brushes, I usually use the very thin one, It’s interesting to find out if it’s too soft or not, Also can you tell me what is the point with testing brushes on animals? How can this achieve anything?

Hi Sara – I don’t believe brushes are tested on animals, but some brushes are made with animal hair. Some companies say they get it by giving the animals haircuts, but you never know if that’s true or not. And you also never know how the animals are treated (if that is true).
