Urban Decay Basquiat Collection Review Part II

I was super excited to have the opportunity to split the Urban Decay x Basquiat vault with Jen! Jen took the Gallery Blush Palette and the Gold Griot Eyeshadow Palette, and I took the Tenant Eyeshadow Palette, Comfort Matte Lipsticks, and 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencils. She posted the review of her half of the collection here, and now it’s my turn to share mine.

First up we have the UD Jean-Michel Basquiat Tenant Eyeshadow Palette. As a lover of bright makeup looks, I was beyond thrilled to try this baby out. As you can see in the swatches, the level of pigmentation varies quite dramatically among the different shades. Boom and Untitled are extremely rich and pigmented, while Studio, 1960, Neo, Les, And Graffiti are pretty sheer. Exu is somewhere in the middle. Since Studio is a blending shade and Neo, Les, and Graffiti are more for adding subtle depth, I’m not particularly bothered by their sheerness. However, I was definitely hoping for more pigmentation from 1960! I would definitely recommend layering any of these bright shades over a white base like the new Urban Decay Primer Potion in Freebase if you really want the colors to pop.

Next we have the 3 Comfort Matte Lipsticks in the shades Exhibition, Abstract, and Epigram. The formula of these is more satin in my opinion, and they are very comfortable and creamy. I think all 3 shades are really interesting and cool. Exhibition is a purpley pink, Epigram is a unique rust color, and Abstract is a grayish nude. My only issue with these products is that they are SO HARD to open! I’m not sure why, but 2 pieces of the tube are extremely hard to separate. I actually had to use my teeth to open them the first few times (ouch) but they seem to be getting a little easier to open the more I do it.

(Swatches left to right: Anatomy, Post Punk, and Vivid)

Lastly, we have the 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencils in Post Punk, Anatomy, and Vivid. All 3 of these pencils are absolutely gorgeous! Anatomy is a rusty warm brown that matches the Epigram lipstick, Post Punk is a limey yellow, and Vivid is a beautiful bright blue. I will definitely be having a lot of fun with Post Punk and Vivid!

For this look I used the Comfort Matte Lipstick in Exhibition, 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Post Punk, and the Tenant Eyeshadow shades Studio, 1960, Boom, and Exu.

Did you score anything from this collection? Thanks for reading!
