Unique Hair Care from Surya Brasil

I’m here to report that dyeing my hair with henna has become my favorite new way to change up my look, thanks to Surya Brasil’s henna cream. Changing your hair color is an instant pick-me-up and the semi-permanence of henna cream makes this a great option if you’re just testing the waters of a new shade. I recently had the chance to try some of the great products from the Brazil-based, cruelty free body care company, Surya Brasil. They are a vegan company specializing in unique body and hair care products using sustainable Amazonian ingredients and biodegradable packaging. Of the products I tried, I was most impressed with the henna cream (obviously!) and the Color Fixation shampoo and conditioner.

Surya Henna Cream

Great, rich color and shine from this product. I’ve never used henna before and I LOVED  that I could color my hair without the harsh smell and chemicals. Took about an hour to process, and the deep red-brown tint lasted for about a month. The henna is hypoallergenic and tested by dermatologists. It’s safe for color-treated hair, and did cover the few gray hairs that have recently graced my head. Surya Brasil contains no ammonia, PPD, parabens, peroxide, resorcinol, heavy metals, artificial fragrance, mineral oils, or GMOs. And the henna cream is gluten free as well!

Color Fixation: Shampoo & Conditioner

I loved the texture of these products.  They’re extremely nourishing and left my hair soft and shiny. These specific formulas are enriched with rice protein, cupuassu butter, buritit oil, and 15 Amazonian herb and fruit extracts that protect the hair and lock in color longer. They are NOT ‘enriched’ with sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, artificial color & fragrance, parabens & GMOs, or mineral oil. Yay! I loved how gentle these were, and they left my hair with great texture and shine. Note: the shampoo is low-lather, which can be a little weird at first if you’re used to lots of suds. It’s still doing the job, though.
