cruelty free tanning self tanner

You have worked out all winter and have a great body to show for it! Yet, there is one last thing in your way to becoming bikini (or speedo) ready for sunny poolside gatherings: you are pale as ever, and you can still faintly see those tan lines from last year’s swimsuit. Technology has the answer: head to one of the local tanning salons!

But maybe you are still unsure – you have heard from friends or on the news about how unsafe tanning is or you are simply afraid to climb into a ‘bed’ of fifty 200 watt fluorescent lamps. Well, you can rest that pretty pale head of yours. Thanks to technology, tanning has become safer than ever – and doesn’t have to involve a tanning bed! There are safe alternatives to get that sunkissed look! Below are a few substitutes for tanning in a tanning bed.

Tech & tan savvy substitutes at the salon

Not sure if you want to try a tanning bed yet? Or ever? There are definitely different ways to achieve a summer bronzing. If you have sensitive or fair skin, you should try airbrush tanning. A technician will mix a tan formula to your specifications and, then, literally airbrush you. The technician is able to pay great attention to detail to make sure you have an even color. There are also spray tanning machines often available at salons. Also known as sunless tanning, these machines contain formulas with over forty ingredients to help you get exactly the look you want.

Cruelty free tan at home products
If you want to skip the salon, check out some of the cruelty free self tanning products that ensure you can get a fake bake that did not harm any bunnies (or any other animal, for that matter). Make sure you wear old clothes or underclothing and gloves when applying self-tanner. You don’t want your hands to get darker than the rest of you! Be especially careful when applying to areas like your elbows and knees as well. Check out Bonne Bell with gel bronzer, Beautisol Need I Glow More facial tanner, Fake Bake or California North with Titanium self tanner for a cruelty free glow that won’t leave you orange or streaky!

Whatever you decide to do to get that perfect summer look, when you are ready to head out to the beach, don’t forget to bring the two most important summer accessories: sunscreen and the confidence that you look amazing!

Nice post, but I'm OK with my skin being whatever color it ends up. Here's a hint: Eating plenty of vegetables gives you a healthy glow that is attractive to the opposite sex!
