Spa Sonic Review

in Body, Skin, Vegan on 03/09/13

I am an exfoliation fiend. Something about the way that it leaves my face looking refreshed and polished, even without makeup, has me hooked. I have a manual face brush, but I always eyed the electric models with a little bit of envy. So I was very excited to receive the Spa Sonic Skin Care System in the mail to try out.

The Spa Sonic is a battery-powered brush for cleansing, exfoliating and toning the skin. What particularly impressed me about the system is that it comes with brush attachments for not only the face, but feet and body, too. It includes 2 facial brushes, 1 larger body brush, 1 pumice stone attachment and 1 microdermabrasion sponge attachment. Better yet, it comes with 4 AA batteries included so you can start using the system right away.

The facial brush is exceptionally soft, so much so that I even wondered if it would be effective for exfoliation. Luckily, with the rotating action of the brush, it provides just the right amount for my skin – it’s not so harsh that I feel stripped and left raw, but I can actually feel the softness and smoothness of my skin when I’m done. I use the facial brush once a day, at night, to scrub off the grime and gunk of the day. Afterwards, my skincare and moisturizers just sink straight into my skin.

The larger body brush is great for prepping for self-tanner or just to clear up rough patches. I found it really helps to calm the KP on my arms, and especially to clear up ingrown hairs after shaving.

The pumice stone is perfect for at-home pedis, to smooth calloused feet. The only dud for me was the microdermabrasion sponge. It feels just like a normal makeup sponge, and it didn’t provide any noticeable benefit over applying my moisturizer with my fingers to me.

Overall, I was really impressed and happy with the Spa Sonic. I really feel it’s helped my skin look its best, especially to clear up spots of hyperpigmentation from old acne.

The Spa Sonic is exceptionally affordable at around $60 for the system, especially considering you get a replacement facial brush head off the bat as well as all the other attachments for the body. Currently, the unit only comes in white – however, they are rolling out a new Color Collection for Mother’s Day which includes lavender and pink shades!

Previously only available in spas and dermatology clinics, the Spa Sonic Skin Care System – 7 Piece Kit is now available in mass-market retailers, like Amazon and Target.

This sounds great! Thanks for the tip about using this to exfoliate before using a self-tanner, that was a great tip!

Thanks for sharing this Spa sonic skin care system! I can’t wait to test this at home.
