My blog post was written as part of my collaboration with eBay and Style Coalition.
Every year, Pantone picks a color that they think will be influential for the year. It usually ends up being seen in designers’ fashions and makeup brands’ collections. This year, the color is Radiant Orchid – a bright, cool-toned plum – like you would see in a fresh orchid. The color can be worn as a bright lip or nail, or blended more casually into a plum smoky eye.
Check out my cruelty free Radiant Orchid makeup and nail polish picks on eBay.
Some of my favorites are: Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in “Hoochie” (the perfect example of Radiant Orchid for lips), Buxom lipstick in “Swinger” – a less intense version in a similar shade. Illamasqua blush in “Thrust” is a good orchid color for cheeks (works best if you have cool undertones or are matching the blush to your Radiant Orchid lip color for an all-over cool look), Urban Decay eyeshadow in “Fishnet” (great for an all over bright eye or mix with deep plum for a smoky eye).
If you noticed, the names for these makeup shades are a little racy, but that doesn’t mean you have to go all out with these bright shades. Go for a more wearable plum with Flower Beauty’s “Orchid’ing Around” or Arbonne’s “Divine Plum” eyeshadows. You can also try “Deep Plum” eyeliner from Mally Beauty as a soft accent.

Jen, please check your links. One of them went to a business on eBay that sells fox-hunting accessories.

Doesn’t Urban Decay still conduct or pay for animal testing??? Did they decide not to sell in China after all?
Urban Decay is still cruelty free (Leaping Bunny approved – and not in China).
Whoa – what? Let me check that – must be something with SkimLInks. It should only bring you to the main eBay page.
It’s bringing you to the main eBay page. Unfortunately I can’t control what eBay posts on their homepage. I don’t approve of fox hunting either.
Awesome, thanks. I hope that they decide to stay that way — for good this time!
