Product Review – Olive Shower Gel by The Body Shop

in Body on 04/15/09

The Body Shop’s Olive Shower Gel is made with olive oil from Italy. Can I get some hot, crusty Italian bread with that please?

It has wonderful lather and just the right amount of scent. I am one of the few people in this world who doesn’t like those uber-scented products from those companies who shall remain nameless (you know who you are!).

Anyway, it’s got what The Body Shop calls  a “green scent.” I would say it’s sort of a cucumber-melon scent – a little fruitier than I would have liked but not bad.

I was expecting a little more moisturizing action (from the olive oil and glycerin), but then, I have very dry skin and this product would probably be right on spot for most. It does contain oleic acid, which can improve the penetration of the moisturizing ingredients, but can be mildly irritating for some.

The olive oil they use is organic and community traded, so I like that. And, of course they never test on animals.
