Lately, despite several skin care products at my disposal, I have still been hating my clogged, oily, rough skin. I know when I get to this point, it’s time for a good exfoliation.
So, I tried my face scrubs, my alpha hydroxy acids, and even a 20% salicylic acid peel, but they just weren’t able to cut through the buildup of dead skin, dirt and oil that’s been aging my complexion.
So, when Marie Louise Cosmetics sent me their Restoration Clear Gel (Exfoliating Gel) to test, I thought it would probably give me similar results as the products I’ve already tried. But this product went way beyond my expectations, in fact, this one will go down as THE BEST exfoliant I have ever tried.
I know, that’s quite a claim. But seriously, this product is an actual miracle worker. After just one application, my skin was smoother than it has ever been. The rough bumpy skin that covered my face is gone. My clogged pores are clear. Dry patches are smooth. And my skin actually looks brighter, younger, dare I say, radiant.
The coolest part about this product is how it works. After cleansing, dry your face. Then smooth the exfoliating gel all over your face (small sections at a time) and gently rub it in with your fingers. As you rub, the product starts to feel grainy, but it’s not just the product, it’s the product mixed with dirt, oil and dead skin gently being rubbed away. After you’ve rubbed it in all areas, you rinse with warm water and pat dry. Seriously, you won’t believe your eyes.
And the best part, my skin doesn’t feel tight or dry, but instead soft and smooth. Now, I know my skin, just because it looks good now, doesn’t mean the oil won’t be back tomorrow, and if I stopped using this gel, the dead skin would build up and be dulling my complexion by the end of the week. Luckily, now I know how to keep my skin looking healthy every day. I’m really excited to see what kind of results I’ll get over time. In as little as a month, I should notice lighter hyperpigmentation, smaller pores and less noticeable wrinkles.
