Product Review – Jane Iredale PureLash Lengthening Mascara

in Makeup on 04/16/09

OK, so I admit it. I’m one of those fortunate girls who likes her lashes. They’re naturally long (don’t judge me), but not very thick and I still need a good mascara to make them pop.

A coworker suggested Jane Iredale’s PureLash Lengthening Mascara. It’s an all-natural, gentle formula with no lacquers, shellac, or petroleum-based ingredients. It all sounded good, but was it possible for a natural mascara to really work as hard as my trusty Covergirl Lash Blast?

Surprisingly, yes. Great for lengthening, it gives me even more to lashes to bat, and it separates each lash perfectly. No clumps, ever.

It’s also non-irritating. Most mascaras usually start to burn my eyes after a long day, but with this one I usually forget I’m even wearing it.

The only downside is it doesn’t really thicken the lashes, and it’s not water-resistant like they claim. If you shed a few tears, it’s definitely going with them. However, on the plus side, that means it’s very easy to remove. A gentle cleanser, makeup wipe, or makeup remover takes it right off.

I like to wear it on days when I’m going for a more natural look, or when I simply don’t have the time to create my fat, glam lashes. It’s really easy to apply — one swipe and you’re beautiful.
