osea malibu skincare review by my beauty bunnySAMPLE

Vegan Skincare From The Sea

There is no doubt about it, now that I’m in my thirties I definitely notice the damage the sun has done over the years. Living almost my whole life in California and spending a lot of time at the beach in my younger years has left me with somewhat of an uneven skintone and definitely some freckles and sun spots that weren’t there before. Because of this, I spend a lot more time focusing on the skincare I use, with hopes of making my complexion look its very best. This is where the the brand Osea steps in to help.

Based on a long family’s history of love for the sea and it’s healing powers, the all natural brand Osea was born.  Harnessing the unique healing abilities of the ocean, the Osea brand developed it’s skincare line blending essential oils, organic seaweed harvested from Pantagonia in Argentina, and certified organic algae with other natural, vegan based ingredients to create the very best in skincare. All their formulas are free of synthetic fragrances.petrochemicals, parabens and sulfates.

I was sent Osea’s Brightening Boost duo to address my skin’s uneven tone. This duo includes their White Algae Mask and Brightening Serum. I also got a small sample of their Advanced Protection Cream. I’ve been using these products for a solid three weeks and love knowing that I am using healthy line of skincare that can only benefit and not harm my nursing baby in any way.

I used the White Algae Mask three times a week at nighttime after taking my shower. I’d usually leave it on for a good 10-15 minutes while I lotioned up and got dressed for bed, but it does say you can even use it as an overnight mask. With continued use this mask is said to reduce redness while helping increase cell turnover for a refreshed complexion. I found this mask to be extremely soothing, almost lotion like as I would apply it to my face. White Algae works to encourage cell renewal while antioxidant packed white wine extract and white tea slow the signs of aging. I love how smooth my skin feels after I wash the mask off and am toying with the idea of trying it overnight, I just don’t know how that works with my pillowcase and sheets.

At morning and night I would apply the Brightening Serum and follow with their moisturizing cream. With each application of this lightweight serum, radiance and hyper-pigmentation is said to improve. Mushroom extract and Pantagonian seaweed prevent additional spots from forming while Bearberry leaf extract helps fade existing discoloration by inhibiting our skin’s ability to produce melanin improving and brightening the complexion. I love how lightweight this serum was. It absorbed quickly without leaving stickiness and left my skin feeling soft, moisturized and healthy.

Overall, I do see some improvements in my skin which is no small feat when relying on an all natural based formula instead of heavy duty chemically laden products. I can foresee that with on-going usage this duo can continue to fade those sun spots and even out my skin that I naively earned from my teens and twenties. I do think it would be important to continue with both products along with an SPF which I use daily to prevent additional damage.
