Ohmagerd Lip Tars!

in Makeup, Vegan on 04/19/13

I’m a huge fan of Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics and their cult-favorite, cruelty free and vegan Lip Tars, so I was excited when they sent me the new Sci-Fi Lullabies 2013 Lip Tars to try out. Three out of six are huge wins for me and my complexion. My favorite is Annika, a nice peachy-coral, matte shade. Clockwork is my second favorite – a bright, orange-y/red matte shade. Zhora is a nice frosty coral that I can also get behind. Lovecraft (bright, shimmery pink) and Pris (sheer, hologram-y pearlescent color) were meh on me, but maybe nice on someone else.

And Batty was just…uh…great for Halloween or to be used as a mixer. I’m pretty certain most people will see the black tube and stay far away, but makeup artists will know just what to do with it. Here’s an example of how a black can be mixed to create completely new shades. The beauty of lip tars!

Yeah – I don’t know what else you’d do with it other than save it for Halloween! 🙂

I really like the way Clockwork looks. Great tip for mixing shades with black!
