October Adopt a Shelter Dog Mani!

in Misc, Nails, Vegan on 10/14/13

Jen and Riley

October is Adopt a Shelter Dog month! You guys know I love my Riley dog (adopted from the North Central LA animal shelter), and he loves to be in my pics, so he helped me with my NCLA manicure. He’s not really good at holding the nail brush (no opposable thumbs and all that), so we just took some pics together.

The color is called “My Dad Invented That” – a deep graphite with multi-colored glitter. Mainly silver glitter, but with a little red, green and gold thrown in for pizazz (you can’t really tell in the pics, but it’s there!). It’s textured, so it does feel rough to the touch, but it looks awesome, and I got a ton of compliments while wearing it.

All my pets have been adopted from shelters and I strongly support L.A. Love & Leashes, a non-profit pet store that helps adopt out pets from the LA shelters. I do pro bono social media marketing for them, so do me a favor and like them on Facebook and Twitter! 🙂

I should have done something simple and elegant like you did but I had fun anyway. I either have the NCLA polish or one similar too!

Marcia – I was impressed with yours! I tried to do black paw prints on orange and failed miserably. My boyfriend even tried to help. It was pretty funny.

Thank you so much for helping spread the word about our beloved shelter dogs! My family has two dogs from our local shelter (one is 17 years old too!). They are honestly the most amazing dogs a girl could ask for and both of them came from not so nice situations. It is amazing how easily our dogs have forgiven people and have given us their complete loyalty and love with us giving the same in return. We are hoping soon to get another dog from the same shelter or possibly foster one to help in the training process.
Thank you so much for sharing!
Keep it sweet and stylish and full of puppy kisses!

I’m so glad to see you promoting pet adoption! Too many people out there want a particular breed. It doesn’t make sense to go out and purchase a dog or cat from a pet store when there are so many animals out there without homes! Thanks for sharing – the pictures are cute 🙂

Riley is beautiful. And thank you so much for saving the life of a beautiful dog, as well as all the compassion and love you have in your heart. We followed the LA shelters. I adopted my dog from the Oregon Humane Society, and it was the best thing I could have ever done.
Much love to you and Riley!
