New Year Mani

in Nails on 12/31/12

20121231-154540.jpg
My New Year’s Eve mani! I used Nuance “Midnight Blackberry” and Butter London “West End Wonderland.” I am also finding Butter London’s matte, peach-toned Nail Foundation to be indispensable as a base coat – especially when using dark colors that can stain nails.

My only complaint about the Nuance nail polishes is that the formula is thick and hard to put on. It also takes a long time to dry. I love the colors but I wish they would tweak the formula a bit. They are inexpensive though and you can find them at CVS.

Butter London polishes are expensive but amazing. I want to own all of them!

Happy New Year!

Really pretty! I had to try this combo and used what I already had: Vapour (Captive) and Victoria’s Secret (Steal the Show). LOVE IT!!!! Thanks for the inspiration! 🙂

Nuance is also bunny friendly? I’ve never heard of it…Did you try polish thinner to make it a little easier to apply? I don’t often get into CVS and I live in a really small town so they may not have them here anyways, but I am always interested to know about new affordable nail polishes to feed my addiction. I was just wondering what you tried? Did you do a quick dry top coat?

I love the look by the way, I just had a ton of questions! Sorry! 🙂

Congrats, DD! Welcome to the fold! Cruelty free is just a good way. And not as difficult as it used to be. This blog is a really great source of information!

Katherine, please run, do not walk, run to get your first butters. You won’t regret it! (They do their best with their own base coat, but if not use a strong top coat, if I can offer that advice.)

Yep – they are cruelty free and sold at CVS. I should try polish thinner – I didn’t know that existed!

Oh and Tricksie – I used a Butter London top coat. 🙂
