This post has been sponsored by Physicians Formula. All opinions are my own – I keep it real with you guys!
This month, Physicians Formula launched a TON of new skincare and makeup products for their Organic Wear line. I’ve got reviews and swatches for everything, so read this before you head to the store. If you’re an arm chair shopper (like me!), you can find all of these items at PhysiciansFormula.com and Walmart.com.
Physicians Formula Organic Wear Makeup
Let’s start with the makeup! I know a lot of you love drugstore makeup, but prefer higher end ingredients without unnecessary additives and toxic junk. That’s where Physicians Formula comes in!
In the photo above I’m wearing only Physicians Formula makeup.
- Foundation – Fair to Light
- Blush – Crushed Berries
- Contour – Toffee
- Highlight – Dew Frost
- Eyeshadow – using Honey Dew highlighter
- Brows – Soft Brown
- Lips – Desert Rose
- Lashes – Natural Origin Mascara on bottom lashes and on top of my lash extensions
- Liner – Brown
Physicians Formula Organic Wear Silk Foundation Elixir with Jojoba Oil – This foundation comes in a beautiful glass jar (which looks gorgeous and high-end on your vanity but not so great for traveling). It’s a thinner formula, which is good for sheer, light coverage. It is buildable, so you can get more coverage by adding a second or even third coat. This foundation is best for normal to dry skin. It’s very nourishing with organic aloe vera, cactus flower, organic jojoba oil and organic coconut oil. There are 12 shades. Walmart.com seems to only have 7 of the 12, so go to PhysiciansFormula.com or check in Walmart stores for the full line. As you can see from the pic, my closest match is Fair-to-Light. It blends in quite well, and gives me a nice canvas to work with, but I still need concealer for my acne spots. I’d say in terms of coverage, it’s a step above a tinted moisturizer.
Dewy Blush Elixir – Since I’m an oily/combo skin girl, I usually stick to powders when it comes to blush, bronzer, contour, etc. But I was impressed with how easily these cream blushes blended into my skin. The result is a very natural look. There are four shades (Top to Bottom in pic): Gorgeous Peach, Apricot Glow, Pink Berry and Crushed Berries. The formula is ultra nourishing with organic aloe vera, cactus flower, organic jojoba oil and antioxidant superfruits (cranberry and blueberry). If you’re going for that dewy look, this is your new best friend.
Dewy Highlighter – These stick highlighters are ultra moisturizing and give quite a glow without any big particles of glitter (yuck). There are two shades: Dew Frost (light pinky peach) and Honeydew (copper). They have all the hydrating ingredients that the blushes have (aloe, cactus, jojoba), plus natural Indian Senna seed which adds additional skin conditioning benefits.
Sculpting Bronzer – These stick bronzers are also ultra hydrating (see ingredients above) and come in two shades: Mocha and Toffee. You can get a darker or lighter finish depending on how much you blend it out (see the full strength look in the pic above and sheered out look in the photo of me).
Nourishing Lipstick – These lipsticks (and the tinted lip balms below) are my faves of the bunch! The lipsticks are super pigmented and at the same time, very hydrating. They’re infused with organic coconut oil, organic shea butter, organic jojoba oil and Vitamin E. Shades (pictured above from top to bottom): Desert Rose, Sugar Plum, Spice, Buttercup, Raspberry Crush and Goji Berry.
Tinted Lip Treatment – I wear lipstick often in photos, but on most days, a tinted lip balm is all I need. These Physicians Formula Tinted Lip Treatments are SO comfortable to wear. They give a little pop of color while hydrating the lips with organic jojoba oil, organic coconut oil, organic shea butter and Vitamin E. There are five shades (picture top to bottom): Love Bite, Gingersnap, Tawny Nude, Tickled Pink and Berry Me.
Precision Liquid Liner – The liquid liner has all of the nourishing ingredients found in the other products in the Organic Wear line (aloe, cactus, jojoba) plus organic chamomile oil. It comes with a flexible brush (it’s not rigid), and it comes in two shades: black and brown (the brown is quite dark, which I prefer). The color payoff is really good – you only need one stroke. Just a note: I wear lash extensions and didn’t have a problem when I tried these on, but in general I’d advise against using any oil-based products if you wear extensions.
Brow Shaping Gel – I really love these brow gels! They are easy to apply, and they give some color as well as shape to your brows. They have all the nourishing and moisturizing ingredients I’ve mentioned, and they come in four shades: Clear, Soft Taupe, Soft Brown and Soft Black. Soft Brown was a good choice for me, but if I wanted to glam it up a bit (and pair with red lips), I’d go with the Soft Black.
Organic Wear Mascara – There are three newly formulated mascaras in the Organic Wear line – Natural Origin (with olive extract to nourish weaker lashes), Fake Out (with silk cotton and lengthening fibers), and Lash Boosting (with organic soybean for fuller lashes). The brushes are made from recyclable plastic. They all contain soybean oil, so if you wear lash extensions, these may not be for you. All three are safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.
Physicians Formula Organic Wear Skincare
Let’s talk about the skincare! The Physicians Formula Organic Wear skincare line is all about nourishing, hydrating and giving you a glow. You’ll find that the majority of the ingredients are organic. Some are vegan (see the Physicians Formula product pages for complete ingredient lists). And of course they are all cruelty free!
Nutrient Mist Facial Spray – For dewy, hydrated skin, try spritzing on the Nutrient Mist Facial Spray after cleansing (and before your moisturizer). You can then re-apply throughout the day – even over makeup. This formula is best for dehydrated, dry and sensitive skin types. It includes: rosehip oil, cactus flower, geranium flower oil, ylang ylang oil, marula oil, hyaluronic acid, organic jojoba oil, organic ginger root and organic aloe vera.
Double Cleansing Oil – If you have dry skin, an oil-based cleanser is a no brainer. But if you have oily skin, don’t be so quick to pass on it. Most of the makeup we wear nowadays is long-wear, and doesn’t come off without a struggle. Use this double cleansing oil on DRY (not wet) skin to remove all your makeup. Then, if needed, follow up with a traditional cleanser. The rosehip oil, jojoba oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil, cactus flower, chamomile and aloe vera in this formula gently remove makeup without the need to scrub.
Bright Booster Oil Elixir – For all of you oil lovers out there, this new formula is lightweight and full of antioxidants for bright, hydrated skin. This cocktail of cold pressed oils includes organic mongongo oil, sunflower seed oil, organic jojoba oil, organic argan oil, organic camellia oil, organic grape seed oil, and rhodiola extract. You only need a small amount (around 4-8 drops). Rub the oil between your fingers and press gently onto your face.
Mineral Primer – This silicone-free primer has mineral SPF 15, organic aloe vera, cactus flower and organic jojoba oil to create an even surface for makeup application.
Lifting & Glowing Mask – This mask is designed to hydrate and exfoliate. It contains natural beta hydroxy acids (meadowsweet), as well as organic mongongo oil, organic aloe vera, and essential oils. It has a gel-like consistency and plumps up the skin without drying.
Lip Polish – Do you have lizard lips? If so, a lip polish can help remove dead skin and soften your lips. The Physicians Formula Organic Wear Lip Polish is made with organic rosehip oil, organic coconut oil, organic raw sugar, organic shea butter, beeswax and rose flower powder. There are no scent additives other than the natural ingredients, so it has a very slight, natural sugary-rose scent.
Lip Treatment – Am I the only one who can’t go anywhere without lip balm? I keep it in pretty much every room of my house (even the bathroom and living room), and I always have it on hand in my purse. My husband is never without lip balm either – it’s always in his pockets. The Physicians Formula Organic Wear Lip Treatment is an unscented treat for your lips. It’s made with organic coconut oil, organic jojoba seed oil, organic beeswax, sunflower seed oil and organic shea butter. The only thing I miss is that minty coolness from peppermint oil. If you are NOT into that, or won’t miss it, you’ll love this one.
Whew! So that’s a lot of new products. See, I wasn’t kidding! I’d love to know – have you tried any of the new Physicians Formula Organic Wear products yet? Will you be picking any up? Thank you so much for the great swatches! Do you think the foundation shade is light enough to match me?

They’ve expanded the line so much. I can’t believe it. I love their liquid liners so I’ll be sure to pick that up when I see it.

Just purchased my first item from this brand at my drugstore today- the tinted lip treatment. I love it! It seems like a very high quality product for the price. Thanks for the swatches. I will probably go back to get one more color at least. And now I am interested in more of the physicians formula line in general. Thanks for your reporting.
