Nelsons Acne Skincare

If you’ve ever wanted to hide your face for days at a time because of a bad breakout, then you understand the importance of finding a reliable face cleanser that not only maintains a great complexion but can also diminish the length of time of an acne breakout. I was excited to try Nelson’s Pure and Clear skincare line because of my familiarity their other homeopathic products such as Bach Rescue Remedy. Also, finding an effective face cleansing system that was also all natural and cruelty-free would be the ultimate beauty find!

Similar to many other skincare systems, Nelson’s Pure and Clear consists of four major products including a purifying cleansing wash, a balancing toner, a nourishing moisturizer and an acne treatment gel. The major difference between Nelson’s skincare system and other systems is that it’s made with pure, natural plant extracts instead of harsh irritants that may be found in other cleansing systems such as salicylic acid and artificial colorings and fragrances.

While Nelson’s doesn’t use any artificial fragrances, it does have a light minty, herbal smell that I found very appealing. Nothing about its scent smelled “chemically” like I’ve experienced with other cleansers. The purifying cleansing wash has a gel consistency that lightly foams up while cleansing. My skin felt fresh after using it but my eye make up lingered a bit. You may have to use a separate eye make up remover with this cleanser beforehand. The balancing toner still contains alcohol but didn’t have an overpowering alcohol scent. The nourishing moisturizer is a very lightweight creme that is easy to apply but left my skin surprisingly a little tight and even a little sticky.

I am very pleased with the immediate reduction of oil production on my face during the day. The appearance of oil also greatly reduced even after just one use. The acne treatment gel is still a mystery to me. I enjoy using it because it’s a light, clear gel and easy to apply but I’m not sure if it actually does anything to heal my blemishes. I noticed it contains arnica (which I’ve seen typically in tablet and oil form for muscle aches) so I assume it’s meant to reduce swelling of a blemish. It does feel cool when applied but I didn’t really see or feel any noticeable different after using the spot treatment.

I think the success of a skincare product has a lot to do with the personal skin chemistry of the person trying it. If you find yourself curious about natural, cruelty-free skincare, I’d try Nelson’s Pure and Clear and see how well it works for you. Nelson’s also offers a Pure and Clear challenge on their website. If you send in a headshot of your problem skin, they will send you a FREE shipment.

I started using this wash for about two weeks ago and not sure if I see a difference yet. I do have to agree that it does give you that fresh feeling
