in Nails on 12/27/13

I am going to be reviewing some of ncLA’s fun nail polish for you today! ncLA is an innovative, fashion forward cruelty-free nail product company from southern California. They make luxury 5-free nail lacquers and runway inspired (patent pending) nail wraps for all of your guilty nail pleasures!

First I’ll review their Black Market Collection, which includes 4 polishes (they have some awesome names I might add.)

ncla bullion in a bottle

First up is Bullion in a Bottle; it’s a metallic gold polish with medium sized multi-color glitter. The formula is thin and easy to work with and it covers well in 2 coats. It dries to somewhat of a duller bumpy texture, which isn’t my favorite, but if you add a topcoat it shines and smooths it out a little bit.

Next is Prized Possessions. It is a deep purple blue (indigo) “jelly type” base with blue and green hexagon glitter. It is a thin formula that you can easily build up to become opaque. My camera wasn’t capturing the sparkle of the polish, but rest assured it’s there!

Then we have Emerald Bay. Ooh la la…this is SO pretty! It’s an emerald (pine) green “jelly” base with purple/green and blue hex glitter. This one didn’t capture well in the camera either, but it is unique and different.

ncla cookies and gold

Last from the Black Market Collection is Cookies and Gold. This is my favorite from the collection; it is an opaque milky white base with fun multi color hex glitter. It reminds me of those speckled egg candies from Easter time, I couldn’t stop looking at it while it was on my nails! Covers very well with 2 coats.

ncla my dad invented that

I also have the color My Dad Invented That from the North of Sunset Collection. It is black polish with a multi micro glitter shimmer. This color is interesting; it dries to a textured sand paper like finish, so it looks somewhat matte. However, if you put a couple of topcoats on it, the micro glitter REALLY pops. This is a very easy black polish to wear; it’s pretty and chic.

Overall the ncLA brand was very stylish and fun to work with. The glitter polishes ARE a pain to remove, so I defiantly recommend using the Foil Method to remove them with ease! Hope you enjoyed this post; now go do what ncLA says and “Enjoy a little California Love on your fingertips!”
