Nature’s Gate Acai Body Lotion and Liquid Soap

in Body, Vegan on 09/29/11

vegan cruelty free hand soap
Although I love traveling new places and trying new things, when it comes to what I put on and inside my body, I like having go-to brands I can trust.  For instance, when I visit Trader Joe’s, I know I can grab whatever T.J.’s brand item I want off the shelf, and it isn’t going to be stuffed full of partially hydrogenated soybean oil. Shudder.

Nature’s Gate is a brand exactly like that—when I see their labels in drugstores, I know whatever I choose is going to smell or taste great, and I don’t have to scour the label to ensure the exclusion of parabens or sulfates. Plus, cruelty-free products can sometimes be a buck or two more than the store brand, so it’s nice to be able to consistently rely on their quality. I’ve never regretted a Nature’s Gate purchase.

I recently sampled Nature’s Gate’s new antioxidant-rich, vegan Acai products—part of their Classics Body Care lineup—and I was able to try the Acai Velvet Moisture Liquid Soap and the Acai Body Lotion.

Nature's Gate Acai Immediately I was impressed with the size of the products—the lotion comes in an 18 ounce pump, which is about what is expected for a lotion, but the liquid soap also comes in a large 16 ounce pump, which is superb. The lotion provides great coverage without being thick or greasy—it feels light on the skin but still adds sufficient moisture that lasts the day—and the soap was indeed “velvety” as proclaimed. The fragrance is also lush and very sweet and fruity. Though I typically go for more citrusy sorts of fragrances, and this is more on the sugary sweet side, it’s not overly heady and I’ve worn it almost daily since I’ve received the samples!

I’ve seen Nature’s Gate products in natural food stores such as Whole Foods and Sprouts/Henry’s markets, or they can be purchased online at www.natures-gate.com.

I adore Nature's Gate products. I used to be able to grab them at a local health food store, but I haven't seen them there lately. I need to find them again.
