LUSH Sympathy for the Skin Body Cream

in Body, Dry Skin, Vegan on 04/12/12

Guest Post by Nancy Mora

Gwen Stefani made an anthem using bananas but Lush created a body cream. Every time I walk into a LUSH store, there is no chance that I will ever leave empty handed. Their products are made with amazing ingredients that you’ve probably never encountered and after the friendly employees introduce your hand to every product in the store, you will want to repeat the process all over again in your home.

My last visit to LUSH was more of a mission: Operation Don’t Purchase the Entire Store. And so it began. As soon as I walked into the store I walked directly towards the face care section and within the blink of an eye, a LUSH expert was by my side ready to introduce me to their newest collections of amazement. After choosing a few items, the employee ran across the store to show me their Sympathy for the Skin body cream. Her purpose was to show me how this cream brightened up the tattoo I had on my wrist but I didn’t budge. I had mastered my mission and was now at the counter. Lucky for me, she decided to put some of this body cream in a sampler container for me to try at home. And while I didn’t pay much attention to it at the store (as I was in “mission mode”), I opened up the mini-treasure after a shower and immediately felt the results.

Made with fresh bananas, almond oil, vanilla, fair trade cocoa oil and lemon oil, amongst other beneficial ingredients, Sympathy for the Skin body cream is a treat on its own – no smoothie needed. The texture is thick and the smell is addicting. The body cream leaves your skin super soft and moisturized.

One thing I learned about bananas after some research was that bananas make you happy and they make you feel good. Bananas alleviate depression, PMS, morning sickness and stress. Bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, a hormone that makes you more relaxed and improves your mood.

My sampler portion is almost coming to an end, which means one thing: Lush store visit in the process. Which means another thing: Operation Don’t Purchase the Entire Store part 2 (or for short, Operation Banana Cream Here I Come!).

I didn't know that about bananas & tryptophan! Very interesting. Bananas are high in magnesium & that's been shown to help premenstrual symptoms. The body cream sounds good enough to eat. I wish one of those stores was close to where I lived.

Nice! I currently have LUSH Dream Cream but my container is running low. Looks like I'll be trying Sympathy for the Skin next, the tattoo brightening qualities intrigue me! ^_^
