South Coast Med Spa

I think most people who know me know that I am obsessed with laser hair removal! You get to wear sexy glasses like in the pic above (yeah right!) and you get zapped with a hot laser – what’s not to love? But seriously, the pain level is probably WAY lower than you think (plus there’s lidocaine and ice when you need it). I think waxing and threading are a million times worse. And laser hair removal is much more permanent. You usually go for 6-8 sessions (depending on the laser type, your skin type, etc) and then you’ll generally need a touch up once a year (or more for certain ethnic groups).

I went to South Coast Med Spa in Los Angeles recently and got my underarms and sideburns lasered. The location I went to is located in West LA but they also have locations in La Jolla, Orange County and San Diego.

The LA location is in a medical plaza – on the 11th floor. The building is nothing special, but the med spa suite is decked out like an underwater Disneyland fantasy. Ariel the Mermaid probably comes here for her laser hair removal. Seriously – it was very cute. And, the receptionist and physician’s assistants were SO nice and warm. I’ve been to some places where this is not the case, so extra points for being nice while you’re shooting lasers at me.

The actual laser process was VERY FAST and didn’t hurt at all – it just felt warm. I iced my underarms, but I probably didn’t need to, because it wasn’t bad at all. They used the LightSheer Duet on me and they also have a Candela laser for different skin types.

To prove it’s not painful, here’s a short video of me getting my sideburns lasered at South Coast Med Spa – not the sexiest video, but hey – the things I do for you people! 😉

South Coast Med Spa Locations:

  • Laser hair removal San Diego
  • Laser hair removal La Jolla
  • Laser hair removal Los Angeles
  • Laser hair removal Orange County

The kind folks at South Coast Med Spa zapped me for free, but the review and opinions are my own and not paid for in any way.

If I lived on the west coast, I would certainly try the Med Spa you went to. You looked totally relaxed, which was good to know since I’ve never had this done.

I also prefer laser hair removal as I find waxing very painful and expensive. Most of the times waxing results in ingrown hairs, red bumps, and minor bleeding but this is not same with laser treatments.

Many people have allergic reactions to shaving and waxing so laser hair removal provides a viable alternative. It may take several sessions and a follow up here and there depending on the individual, but it is certainly a great way to get rid of and keep unwanted hair away.

Unwanted hair is a problem with both men and women. Though a lot of remedies are there, yet one is always confused about which one to go for. Despite finding best solution being a messy deal, you badly need one. Especially is summer, you don’t want to skip wearing shorts just because of hair only! Thats where Dermology comes in.

Last summer I had my first experience with laser hair removal. (After getting my eyes corrected and unwanted hair removed – I <3 lasers).

Anyway, I agree with you that the pain is minimal & well worth it. I did 4 sessions for each area of unwanted hair. I may need a few more to completely zap my underarm hair, but the other area I did is nude of dark hairs.

Laser hair removal is a hair removal procedure. Lasers can selectively target dark, coarse hairs while leaving the surrounding skin undamaged. With laser you can treat many hairs at the same time all in a fraction of a second.

Third visit…. Tattoo brightcolors are fading fast and the black too. Laser hair on under arm and bikini amazing results and I am only half way through. Scheduling appointments are easy and great. Never had a mix up. If you are thinking of going, go! Courtney is excellent.

I have done in office and DIY laser treatments, which is why I am commenting. The fact you could get your armpits done with little discomfort is amazing. I thought in office laser treatment was bearable but uncomfortable. Especially as the session goes on.

Think it is worth mentioning that the DIY laser treatments are just as effective as office visits and cost less. The down side is you need to do it more times to get the same results, but the expense is so much lower that for many people this is a nice option.

Currently, I own a MeSmooth and believe there are many nice products available. Because I have had success with it and know it works with all skin types, I highly suggest your readers check it out.

I’ve tried lazer, but my results where just okay. I do have some completely bald patches. To me, it hurt much more than waxing 🙁
