LEAP Organics

in Body, Vegan on 08/12/10

When I first laid eyes on these soaps from cruelty-free brand, LEAP Organics, I knew I had to have them. Okay – just look at the packaging – they’re works of art! Then, when I checked out their website, I found out that not only are they against animal testing, they also use all USDA certified organic and fair trade ingredients, use environmentally friendly packaging, give back to the community, and do what they can to minimize their company’s carbon footprint. And the soaps are vegan. Wow! Here’s what they  have to say about animal testing – so cute:

Our products are also cruelty-free and we never test on animals. We support the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC) and proudly show the “Leaping Bunny” symbol on our site and products. This symbol identifies companies like LEAP that do not test on animals. Besides, most of the animals we know live outside and enjoy nature’s free showers, so why would they even need to test our soaps? Exactly.

I tried the soaps and they are great! Some “natural” soaps don’t lather well, or they have sharp edges that bother me, or they are too heavily scented. LEAP has none of these problems! Nice lather, rounded edges, perfect amount of essential oils and they seem to last a long time (just keep them out of the water when not using).

I’ve used the Eucalyptus, Lemongrass and Lavender Body Bars and they’re all fantastic. Plus, they’re only $5 each! That is not a bad deal at all! The only problem is that I don’t want to get rid of the boxes because they are so cute! What do I do with them? Any eco-friendly suggestions for me to reuse them? Let me know in the comments section!
