innovative skincare extreme protect SPF 30 review by my beauty bunnyCruelty Free Sun Protection

Sun protection is definitely not just a summer thing anymore and we now must take those few extra minutes to incorporate it into our daily routine – whether it be during the hot summer or cooler winter. The sun does take a vacation and hide, and skin damage can occur at any given time of the year. While there are different opinions on what level of SPF we all should be using on the regular, I generally have had The American Academy of Dermatology drilled into my head that SPF 30 is good for daily use while higher numbers should be applied for outdoor activities. For daily use, I have been relying on IS (Innovative Skincare) Extreme Protect SPF 30 and have been happy with what it’s been doing for my skin.

A few months back, I was started running in my neighborhood through the hills and under the beating hot sun. I needed something that was going to keep my face and shoulders protected without burning my eyes from the inevitable sweaty face. When I first received the IS Extreme Protect SPF 30, I thought it may be too thick and heavy for my acne-prone skin. One full pump of this thick lotion (almost cream) was all I needed to spread out over my face, neck and the tops of my shoulders. I found that it had the fragrance of “unscented” sunblock (if that makes sense) and took a few minutes to fully sink in – something I only found critical if I was putting on makeup right afterwards.

I am pleased to report no stinging of the eyes or makeup sliding off my face — two important factors in choosing an SPF that would multitask for my lifestyle. And was even happier to find out the specific details behind this advanced scientific line of skincare products. Extreme Protect SPF 30 offers UVA/UVA Broad spectrum coverage, moisturizes, and repairs damage done by the sun. Antioxidants in the formula help keep skin young, while gotu kola firms and lift the skin–something that I should address even in my early thirties.

For those of you who want to kick it up a notch and feel like they need some added protection,
Innovative Skincare has another version with SPF 50, called Eclipse SPF 50+ that is water-resistant and has transparent titanium dioxide (think less white cast on skin). I agree that THIS is probably the one I should have been using while running, but hey, I was at least using something to protect that delicate skin! Baby steps!

This sounds like a great sunscreen, especially the spf 50 one that hopefully doesn’t go on white. I’ll be checking out the website. I used a skincare regimen from this line about 6 years ago and was quite impressed. Thanks for the review!
