No really – I smell great! I’ve been using the new perfume line from Randi Shinder (the AMAZING woman behind one of my most favorite perfume lines in the world – CLEAN!!) and Jane Daly, a perfume industry veteran and well-known blogger. The new line is called “i smell great” and it has already been receiving tons of buzz in the beauty industry.
They believe perfume should be something special and personal – not a shout out the world – “Hey look at me! Look at me!” I completely agree. I’ve tried most of the perfumes in department stores when I was younger, and my nose said NO. Most of those perfumes are not cruelty free, and I’m very excited to say this line IS cruelty free! It’s also made in the USA, paraben-free, and the packaging is 100% biodegradable (not to mention adorable). And all products are vegan!
The line come in four amazing scents that you can layer on to create your signature scent: angel cake, beach babe, candy crush and wild honey. They are all light and sweet, but not the sickeningly sweet smell you get from artificial fragrance. I may not be an expert in describing perfumes or writing about them like perfume bloggers do, but my nose knows! My friends and family know I have a VERY strong sense of smell (my mom said I should be a “Nose” or “le nez” and move to France). But mostly my “super power” comes in to play when there is something gross smelling in the house (we have two cats and a dog, so there’s always something stinky). So because of that, I LOVE scents like these!
The i smell great collection uses scents of powdered sugar, candied flower petals, tropical breezes and scents of honey with an added touch of sweetness. But somehow they do this without being overpowering or too girly. Click here to see their scents, and mix up a recipe of your own by layering them! For example, wild honey + angel cake = wild angel.
I was wearing the candy crush eau de perfum and the wild honey hair mist, and my fiance was like, “Oh wow – you smell good!” Then we got into an Uber car service, and the girl driver was like, “Someone smells good!” Of course Gregg tried to take the credit because he’s a goofball, but I told her about the new line of fragrances.
Beach Babe is also a favorite. It might freezing in your part of the world, but you can still imagine you’re sitting on a beach sipping cocktails and soaking up the sun! I’m afraid my mom might try to steal this one from me, because she LOVES beachy scents, and this one is the best I’ve ever smelled. No mom – I’ll get you some! Leave mine alone!
I have a lot of good things to say about these, but my favorite thing is that you can mix the scents together. They all layer very well. The collection is not just perfume. The range includes an Eau de Parfum of course (lasts 6-8 hours – their “true extraction technology” makes the scents last longer without seeming stronger – try applying pressure or motion to reactivate the scent), a Hair Fragrance that adds additional conditioning and shine but never makes your hair look greasy (LOVE!), a Wellness Water Mist (delicate and healing in a base of purified water, aloe and vegetable glycerin – you can spritz this on all day for a pick me up!), a Soft Body Whip (includes almond oil, CoQ10 and Vitamin E to nourish skin and fight off free radicals), and a Reactive Lip Lush (a lip softener with a sheer tint that uses encapsulated spheres that are activated with a lick of the lips – wow!).
The i smell great products contain aloe to restore skin’s pH, hydrate and refresh. They also contain Vitamin B which helps improves elasticity and moisture. So it’s actually GOOD for your skin!
