Cruelty Free Lash Extensions - Before and After

Question of the Week: Mascara, lipstick, eye shadow: you have to eliminate one from your routine FOREVER. Which would you chose?

Well that’s an easy one for me! I don’t use mascara very often – except for my lower lashes. So I could easily get rid of mascara and be just fine! That’s because I have lash extensions. I’ve been getting them for about 4 or 5 years now, and I’m at the point where I can’t imagine my life without them! I have very hooded eyes, so even with lash growth enhancers, curling and mascara, my lashes are barely noticeable.

Cruelty Free Lash Extensions - Before and After

The lash extensions not only look amazing, they also give me an instant eye lift – making my eyes look bigger and less down-turned! It’s important that you find a GOOD eyelash extension place in your area – make sure to check Yelp and ask around before you go. You want to make sure they are CLEAN (this is delicate stuff near your eyes people!), that they will pay attention if your lashes are starting to get weak or thin (if that happens, either take a break or go with a thinner, lighter lash), and that they have synthetic, cruelty free options. Keep in mind that a lot of synthetic lashes are called “mink” even if they are not from actual mink. The only way to know for sure is to have a discussion with your lash tech. In case you’re wondering, I go to Stacy Lash on Ogden and Beverly in Los Angeles – Stacy is amazing! I have an article here on how to care for lash extensions. And I do recommend using a lash growth product to keep them healthy since extensions can be damaging over time (I like Hydropeptide and Revitalash).

The Lipstick League – week of 10.9.17

Please note that not all Lipstick League posts are cruelty free.

Gouldylox – Does matte makeup work for women over 40? I’ve got all the details on what you need and what you don’t from the new Peaches and Cream Collection from Too Faced.

My Beauty Bunny – has teamed up with Phyrra and Haus of Hounds to give away a HUGE cruelty free beauty haul!

Phyrra – Think you don’t have time for a skincare routine? Think again! Check out my Quick Skincare Routine for Busy People. Save time & still have great skin.

Prime Beauty – Makeup Artist and super nice guy Etienne Ortega has teamed up with PÜR Cosmetics to bring us the PÜR PRO X Etienne Ortega Eyeshadow Palette and it’s fabulous!

we heart this – Our favorite perfume co. has come up with a line of Hair Gloss ode to all the dogs they’ve loved before. Don’t think kibble and slobber, think fields of flowers and warm chocolate-y fur. Though there is a corn chip paw nod…

Beautygeeks – is sick to death of this particular beauty myth and has this to say to anyone who perpetuates it: do the darned math.

Beauty Junkies Unite – Halloween is one of the most fun times of the year for beauty collections, and Amber loves Halloween! Check out these spooky nail polishes from Salon Perfect from their Wicked Beauty Collection.

Blushing Noir – A look at the latest, greatest and MUST-HAVE holiday beauty gift sets at Sephora. PLUS, maybe you’ll get a little tip on how to score cash back on your purchases year round. 😉

EauMG – I’ve finally tried one of those fancy, expensive Mugler perfumes and here’s my thoughts.

fanserviced-b – Inspired by shocking research, I wrote the script for a short video about how toxic beauty products are most often marketed to women of color.

(Wondering what the Lipstick League is? Find out here.)

Gouldylox is Currently Craving: I’m torn between two palettes…I love the Smashbox Photo Strip palette for great transition shades, but I really want the new Huda Beauty palette. Decisions, decisions…
