Physicians Formula Organic Wear Jumbo Lash Mascara

Written by: Lauren Warner, Staff Writer

“How Green is Your Makeup?” is the slogan on the box of Physicians Formula Organic Wear Jumbo Lash Mascara. I had to try this mascara because not only is it my “perfect mascara brush” type and cruelty free but the box boasts of other fantastic benefits. It’s described as being 100% free of harsh chemicals, synthetic preservatives, parabens, GMO’s and synthetic colors and fragrances. Definitely worth a try! I love that the brush type makes it near impossible to get clumps on your lashes and is also 100% recyclable (I’ve honestly never thought of recycling a mascara wand before.)

The mascara bottle is a little silly (it’s shaped like a big green leaf) but it’s not going to deter me from using it. I like that it’s different and I can always find it right away in my makeup drawer. I really like how dry this formula is. It reminded me a lot of another mascara that I used to like but no longer use because it’s not cruelty free. This mascara is definately going to become one of my drugstore frequent purchases. I love this one! I’d like to try other makeup in Physicians Formula’s Organic Wear product line. Has anybody had experience with using products in this line? What are your favorite Organic Wear products?

Lauren

I was very hopeful trying this mascara but I was so disappointed. I frequently had mascara running under my eyes by the end of the day. Looking for a better alternative. 🙁

hi there – I have been following your blog for a while and appreciate that you are educating consumers on cruelty free. A couple of your posts have given me pause especially today's post with Physician's Formula. They have historically been one of the leading cosmetic manufacturers that test on animals. Where are you getting your information from? Are you receiving this info directly from the company and if so, has it been verified?

Hi there! I use physicians formulas organic wear liquid foundation and face powder. I love both products because of the paraben free formula but they also feel light on my face and dont cause me to break out in acne. I will definitely try the mascara!

Love their Tinted Moisturizer/Foundation, plus the mascara and finishing powder.

Hi Jacq – Physician’s Formula is on PETA’s cruelty free list: http://www.peta.org/living/beauty-and-personal-ca…

    Hi there 🙂
I bought a Physician's Formula Organic Wear mascara because of it's cruelty-free status.
    I wear contact lenses,
and this mascara didn't bother my eyes at all 🙂
My lashes look lush, full and lovely,
and the wand is great for separating clumps and targeting the more delicate inner and outer lashes …
but the mascara smudges in humid environments (think bartending, clubbing, getting caught outdoors in a spring shower…)
This is not the mascara to wear if you are prone to tears.

Today I bought Maybelene clear mascara. Usaully I use just a black mascara and and eye lash curler. Can you tell me how to use the mascara correctly, and do you use it with the black mascara too? Thanks 🙂 I want them long and thick looking, i have blue eyes if that matters

I wouldn't recommend Maybelline because it's not cruelty free. You should check out some how-to videos on YouTube. It's hard to explain in words!

I definitely tweeted this one! I've been meaning to buy PF's mascara but haven't gotten around to doing so yet. I've used their products in the past and I really like them, so I look forward to trying it out! Thank you for always having such informative and interesting posts

I was so disappointed a few weeks ago when I found out that they're a part of L'oreal. gh, I've used Maybelline for years now and not only did I love their products, the prices couldn't be beat. I sopped using their line as of last month. It's just a real shame that they animal test. I've recently started using brands such as CG, Revlon, Rimmel, Milani, Sally Hansen, Almay and Laura Mercier, as opposed to my Estee Lauder, MAC and Maybelline products.

I'm pretty sure Sally Hansen is NOT cruelty free. Same with Rimmel. The others are great!

Physician’s Formula is not cruelty free. PETA does not look into chemicals tested on animals or ‘parent’ companies that put your money into animal testing for another sub-company. Also, anything that is sold in china as a cosmetic is by law tested on animals and that is not cruelty free. Go to leapingbunny.com for a more strict list of companies that are 100% honestly cruelty free. PETAs list is more of a corporate scam.
