Fruit for Your Face

in Acne-prone, Combination Skin, Oily Skin, Vegan on 08/16/10

Blueberries

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a big fruit eater. Tart flavors gross me out. But, fruit on my face? That’s another story! Bring on the antioxidants!

Made From Earth is a cruelty-free, organic skin care brand that has a really nice, preservative-free fruit cocktail for your face. Their Three Berry Daily Face Cream is made with blueberries, red raspberries and cranberries.

Blueberries support the skin against harmful oxidants associated with the elements (free radicals). They are rich in  anthocyanins, which help oxygenate the skin.

Research in the past decade has determined that ellagic acid is a compound that has a positive effect on regeneration and growth. While ellagic acid has been found to occur naturally in 46 different foods, red raspberry has been identified as having the highest natural content. So, red raspberry moisturizes your skin and helps to heal, especially after a nasty sunburn.

The nutrients found in cranberry give this cream antibacterial properties, which makes it great for acne-prone skin.

Made From Earth Three Berry Face Cream

The Three Berry cream is not heavy at all, but still provides plenty of moisture – perfect for under-makeup, daily use. You can also use it at night so those skin cells can repair themselves while you sleep. If you want more moisture at night, you can use this as a sort of serum underneath a heavier moisturizer.

The ingredients are organic and you can actually pronounce them: Organic Aloe Vera Juice, Kosher Vegetable Glycerin, Rosehip Seed Oil, Vitamin C Ester, Organic Cranberry Extract, Organic Red Raspberry Extract, Organic Wild Blueberry Extract, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, Mannan, Black Willowbark Extract, Citric Acid

This facial cream is perfect for my vegan friends! Made From Earth is also having a sale right now. Check it out!

That sounds fab. I'm always on the lookout for products with blueberries in, and this one sounds yummy. The rosehip and aloe vera in particular combined with blueberries seems like it would be very soothing.
