Ethical Fashion: Jewelry

in Fashion, Misc on 04/16/14

My blog post was written as part of my collaboration with eBay and Style Coalition.

Whether you want to make a statement or just add a bit of interest to your outfit, jewelry can go a long way. Make sure it matches your stye, budget, outfit, and, if you’re vegan, check that it’s a cruelty free piece. It’s not hard to find vegan jewelry – avoid fur, feathers, leather/suede, silk and natural pearls. Metals, plastics, plant-based fabrics like cotton, and gemstones are all fair game (you may want to check the source of your diamonds to avoid conflict diamonds). If you like the look of animal materials, you can find plenty of faux options. Here are some gems (pun intended) that I found on eBay!

blue faux leather cuff

This wide blue faux leather cuff with gold studs has edge without the guilt.

aqua dotty seahorse necklace

This Aqua Dotty Seahorse necklace would be perfect for those springtime outfits.

nail bracelet

You can pay a lot of money for the trendy bent nail bracelet seen on celebs everywhere, or you can get one on at a much cheaper price in silver, gold or rose gold finishes.

rose gold swarovski crystal birds nest finger ring

This gorgeous rose gold Swarovski crystal bird’s nest finger ring is at the top of my wish list! Perfect for Spring!

alexis bittar crystal studded scalloped bib necklace

Make a statement in this Alexis Bittar crystal studded scalloped bib necklace. How cute would this be with a little black dress?

feather necklace cruelty free

Want to wear feathers this music festival season, but don’t want to wear the real thing? Try this feather icon pendant instead!

Kate Spade red bangle cuff

Add a dainty Kate Spade red and gold bangle to your arm party!

blue enamel bracelet
Or go bold with a chunky blue and gold enamel bracelet.

simply vera wang fringe necklace

Forget the leather fringe – go with metal! Try this Simply Vera Wang fringe necklace as an edgy but girly alternative to suede fringe.

There’s a ton of animal-friendly jewelry on eBay – check out my collection, and let me know what fun pieces you find!
