Brighten Your Skin Naturally

Now that I’ve reached mommy status, my level of tired has gone up, and my effort to put on makeup has gone down.  That means a lot of bare faced days because really, ain’t nobody got time for that! Without makeup, I’m noticing the hyper pigmentation and unevenness of my skin more so because I’m not putting “my face” on every morning anymore. And while I don’t have any serious qualms about getting older, I definitely want to try and slow the process down and still look my best when I can. So when I was given an opportunity to try more products from Eminence Organics there was no question that I was going to give them an emphatic YES!

Because I have specific skincare concerns (freckles, spots and unevenness) I chose to try Eminence Organics Brightening Products that utilize all natural ingredients to safely work on those problem areas. What’s great about this line is that they avoid dangerous and sometimes questionable ingredients, like hydroquinone to help lighten and brighten the complexion. Instead, it owes its brightening power to the inclusion of licorice root, lactic acid, a unique ingredient called Gigawhite, and a blend of strong antioxidants to help improve and strengthen the skin.

eminence-bright skin cleanser

The Bright Skin Cleanser was the first product I started using for the past two months. It’s formula is creamy and doesn’t suds at all. It actually feels like a lotion cleanser and leaves my skin feeling soft and clean after massaging it into my skin morning and night. This cleanser uses bearberry extract to help lighten those spots up, gigawhite to improve luminosity, and a natural hydroquinone alternative that is derived from the African potato and tara tree for overall brightening.

After cleansing, I follow with one of two professional peel products that I requested. The Clear Skin Willow Bark Exfoliating Peel worked to fight breakouts I get occasionally from sweaty workout sessions while the Bright Skin Licorice Root Exfoliating Peel helped in fighting the unevenness of my skin. I didn’t use these everyday as they would make you more sensitive to the sun, but alternated and use both 1-2 per week for best results.  I’ve always had a clogged oil duct on my nose that bugged me and I can wholeheartedly say the Willow Bark Peel helped open that duct up and release the build up (gross, I know) so it lay flat instead of a bump under my skin. Salicylic acid and Lactic Acid worked to lift dead skin cells and refine the pores while Willow bark and Biosulfur cleansed the pores and doubling as an anti inflammatory to calm the skin.

The Bright Skin Licorice Root peel is working great for my muddled forehead and spots on my upper cheek bones. Lactic and Mandelic acids also work to exfoliate my skin revealing a younger, fresher layer underneath. It has a unique blend of antioxidants and anti inflammatories to cleanse, brighten and tone the skin in one powerful swipe.

eminence-bright skin licorice root booster serum

Next step is using a serum, one of my favorite steps in my skincare routine. The Bright Skin Licorice Root Booster Serum works by continuing the skin brightening benefits of everything listed above. It also uses licorice root, gigawhite, and a unique blend of antioxidants called their “Biocomplex” to leave my skin feeling calm and moisturized while gently working to brighten my skin also. I use 4 drops morning and night and love how easy it is to spread and sinks in quickly.

eminence-brightening moisturizer

Last, I always follow with their Brightening Moisturizer with SPF 30.  You really don’t need SPF at night time, but for the sake of the review and wanting to stick to only using Eminence products I used this morning and night for maximum results. After using peels throughout the week, it was super important to protect the skin from the sun’s rays and not reverse all the work the cleanser and serum was doing. I was a little concerned how well this moisturizer would apply since it looked thick and came in a pot and not in a pump. But surprisingly, just a sweep of my fingers would pick up enough to cover my face, and absorbed nicely. I’ve been trying to wear a hat more often when I go outside, but found that this worked great for protecting my skin against UVA/UVB/UVC rays and my skin is really starting to look better.

I’m only two months in and they say that you’ll start really seeing results around month three. I’m already pleased with what I’m seeing so far. I only wish I had asked for the targeted spot treatment so I could really go after this one spot I have on my cheek with a vengeance. That sucker has been there forever. Hands down this is one of favorite skincare lines I have tried and will always be coming back for more.

To find out more about Eminence Organics you can visit their website and find out more about each of their skin specific lines. Their products are usually carried in Spas so if you want to purchase them you’ll need to go online and track them down. It sounds like the ingredients are not harsh to the skin. I wonder if this is good for those who are already fair skinned? Will it not be making you more pale than necessary?

Not so much of a fan on peeling products. It makes me wanna avoid the sun which I don’t wanna do. Do they have a sunscreen to couple with it?

    These products really sound promising!
