Eclos skin products

Researchers have found that Plant Stem Cells extracted from a rare Swiss apple, (Uttwiler Spätlauber), show tremendous ability to stimulate skin stem cells, encouraging aging skin to behave like younger skin. This is the first time I’ve seen a skincare product with plant stem cells at an affordable price ($12.99 – $24.99). Eclos skincare products (owned by Freeman) are cruelty free and made without parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes or petro-chemicals.

In a clinical study, Eclos state that 100% of the women saw a reduction in wrinkle appearance within 2 weeks. (I don’t know the sample size or any other details on this study, so take that with a grain of salt.) The products also contain: chamomile, horse chestnut, ginkgo biloba, willow bark, rosewood oil, rosemary, cucumber, comfrey and other antioxidant-filled botanicals.

Eclos sent me a travel set with the Skin Prep (cleanser), Instant Radiance (facial scrub), Skin Renewal (clay mask), Cellular Activator (serum), Moisture Therapy (facial moisturizer) and Restorative (eye cream). These products are great for my sensitive skin and all skin types can use them. If you have SUPER oily skin, you might want to skip the moisturizer and just use the serum (or use the moisturizer a few times a week).

It’s SO nice to see new cruelty free skincare products at mass retail stores like GNC, Rite Aid, Target, Walgreens and ULTA. You can also buy the products online.

Random side note: the headband that comes with the travel kit also makes a great headache band. I just wrap it around my forehead when I have a migraine – the pressure helps a lot!

    Hi Jen,

Do you know what age we should start using anti-aging products?

    Thanks

Hi Sara – I’m not a derm, but this is my personal opinion. If you’re in your ’20s and you’re using a good cleanser, moisturizer and maybe an eye cream, you’re doing great! A lot of anti-aging creams are designed to firm skin (which you probably don’t need yet) and speed up the development of new skin cells (which you probably don’t need unless you have problem skin). The biggest thing you can possibly do to prevent premature aging is wear sunscreen and don’t smoke/drink too much, and follow a healthy diet!

Hi Lindsay – I think this is a great skincare line to try – especially for the price!

I have seen this brand at Target and Walgreens and was wondering if it is any good. Good to know more about it.

    Hi Jen,
I was wondering about this line for a while now…does it make you break out? I’m thinking about using it for my winter (I’m in NY) skin care. I break out and think this might help because it helps skin turnover.

Hi Molly – it didn’t make me break out. I think it’s a good one for combo/oily skin in the winter time (when we tend to be more dry).

LeapingBunny.org doesn’t list Eclos or Freeman as cruelty free. What are your sources?

I started using Eclos about a month ago with the starter kit just to see if I would like the products and I really liked how it made my skin feel and look. No break outs (not even when I used the scrub & mask), nice natural fragrance without being overwhelming, very easy to wash off, the face wash does great taking make-up off and the best part for me is that it’s cruelty free. At first I was a little put off that their products are so small for the price but I def say that a little goes a long way with their products. Soooo guess what I asked everyone for Christmas, lol 🙂 I would suggest investing in the starter kit since it’s only $20 (plus like Jen says, you get a great head band). Hope this helps!

    Best wishes,
    Sheri b.
