DIY: All Natural Tightening Face Mask

all natural tightening face mask

Written by contributing writer, Gee Kauer of Bellashoot.

As a little girl, I loved playing dress-up. That was my favorite time because I could raid my mom’s jewelry closet while my mom was occupied with taking care of herself. My beautiful mom is in her ’50s now (don’t tell her I told you) and I always thought she had good genes, but it has a lot to do with how she’s taken care of herself using ingredients from nature.

My mom still has an aloe vera plant from which she takes the freshest aloe and uses it as a moisturizer, to heal cuts or just as a facial mask. I owe all my DIY regimens to her and thankfully it saves a lot of money too!

My favorite one lately has been a tightening mask. I take one cage-free egg white and a few drops of lemon, mix it really well and use a brush to apply it directly to the face, avoiding the eye area. I leave it on until it completely dries (which gives me time to do the dishes or some straightening) and then use a washcloth to wipe it off with lukewarm water. Once the mask is completely removed, splash your face with cold water. I personally feel the firmness right away and the great thing is it keeps getting better throughout the day.

Throughout the week if I’m on my computer I just take soy milk and apply it directly to my face until it dries and then wash off. Soy has many anti-oxidants and it keeps the skin looking soft and supple. I literally know so many of these that I could try one mask for weeks without repeating. Now do I? Umm that’s a different story. 🙂

Hope you love this mask as much as I do and I look forward to sharing many more of my mom’s secrets on bellashoot.com a social beauty hub created for beauty lovers.  It’s a great place for all of us to share our beauty tips & more. It’s launching in a few days, so sign up today!

    Hi Gee,
First wish you good luck with your new website, and thanks for sharing your natural remedies.
I too love natural remedies, I love to use yogurt mask for sun spots reducing, and green tea mask which is a great anti-oxidant.
Just signed to Bellashoot, looks fantastic!

WOW! This article is a bit old from 2013 but I’m sure the recipe still works! I wrote my own list of facial skin tightening masks as well (I attached the link above on my name) please let me know what you think! 😉
