Cruelty Free and Green for St. Patty’s Day

in Hair, Makeup on 03/13/13

Lush st patricks day

Green goodies to go with your green beer on St. Patty’s Day? Of course! Here are some cruelty free beauty treats from LUSH that you’re sure to love:

LUSH Cynthia Silvia Stout (vegan)

Beer shampoo, really? For volume, softness and shine we proudly serve our tremendously effective pub-inspired shampoo. Cynthia Sylvia Stout is made with organic vegan stout beer from a local brewery, which contains protein to give your hair weight, smoothness and gloss. It’s excellent for hair that tends to go frizzy in damp or humid environments. Cynthia smells delicious, just like a brandy, stout and lemon cocktail and even makes curly hair unbelievably shiny and bouncy once again. Give your thirsty hair a drink of this.

I love this shampoo! I don’t drink beer, but I sure don’t mind putting it on my hair! Cynthia Silvia Stout makes a great detoxifiying shampoo. It gets rid of buildup and makes your hair super shiny and healthy-looking. Highly recommended!

LUSH Avobath (vegan)

Our bold green Avobath Bath Bomb is not for lazy days lying back in the tub. On the contrary, it’s for gray days and mornings (afternoons and evenings too), when you just can’t shake brain fog. Pop one into your bath for an instant jolt of invigorating, lemongrass-scented energy and fizz. Splash about in the shimmery green waters and let the fresh avocados and olive oil soften you up and leave you with softer, supple skin, as well as a brighter outlook. Next time you need a zesty refresher; all you need to do is Avobath.

This is a nice citrus-y bath bomb. I shared a bath with my man and he loved the scent. The price is a little hefty, so I usually save these for special occasions or super stressful days (wait – I guess I need one of these every day then!).

LUSH Stimulating Ginger & Fennel Sugar Scrub (vegan)

Our solid Sugar Scrub is tough on cellulite and unwanted bumps, but kind on your skin. It’s no nonsense attitude doesn’t waste any time getting down to business; sweetly exfoliating with Fair Trade sugar and stimulating circulation with fennel and ginger. It’s not all rough stuff though; calming lavender has a balancing effect and encourages healthier skin. Get yourself wet in the bath or shower (but don’t let the bar get under the running water). Scrub, scrub, scrub and rinse away! You’ll be left with smoother, cleaner and radiant skin. Water you waiting for? Get scrubbing!

This is a hardcore scrub until it melts a bit. So, start with your feet then move on to other areas. It melts fast, so I found that it was a one-time (full body) use for me. If I had been a bit more careful, I could have probably made it last for a few baths. After using, I was amazed at how soft and smooth my skin looked – my legs looked like they had been airbrushed!

Lush-Intuitive-Green-Eyeshadow-2 Lush-Intuitive-Green-Eyeshadow

Intuitive Cream Eyeshadow (vegan)

A golden green – reminds me of fresh, spring grass. It’s very sheer, so you may want to do a few layers to get a good pop of lime green. I love the way this looks with a peachy-pink blush and lipstick and black mascara.

LUSH

  • Unleash your inner artist: These cream eyeshadows can be bold or subtle as the base softens easily into your skin.
  • Easy on the eyes: the nourishing base is made with a soothing rose petal infusion and skin-softening almond and jojoba oils.
  • Wear the word: The cupuaçu butter and glycerin help set the color pigment nicely, so these eyeshadows offer a beautiful, vibrant color.

Of course I have to buy that shampoo now. As a good old Irish girl I love beer! 😉 Thanks for the reviews

This is helpful because I haven’t tried much from lush before. I use the buffy body butter and love it.

By the way, I’ve been corrected about this in the past – It’s actually supposed to be “St. Paddy’s” not “St. Patty’s”. Patty is actually short for Patricia. Someone pointed me to this website – paddynotpatty.com
