Gregg and I went to one of our favorite spots for Valentine’s Day called Cafe Verona. It’s a cozy little Italian place on La Brea that is like an oasis from the city. It’s covered in plants and flowers, and you’re sort of eating outside, but it’s all very cozy and nice. Food is great and the waiters are super friendly. Definitely recommend it – go check em out if you’re in Los Angeles!

Anyway, enough about food – here’s my V-Day date night cruelty free makeup look from last night!

Pop Beauty Lip Stain Peony

Pixi Beauty Its Judy Time Eyeshadow Palette Makeup Look

Before I did my makeup, I used a Skyn Iceland Plumping Lip Gel on my lips. It made my lips feel great and made lipstick application easy. Did it add a little plumping? Maybe a little, but I like it more for the moisture.

Lips – Pop Beauty Plump Pout Liquid Lipstain in Peony Petal

Eyes – Pixi Beauty + It’s Judy Time collaboration – It’s Eye Time eyeshadow palette and Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in Cosmic – it’s a beautiful white sparkle – perfect in the inner corners

Skin – Tarte Cosmetics Amazonian Clay 12 Hour full coverage foundation in Light.

Powder – Manic Panic NYC Vampyre’s Veil pressed powder in Moonlight – this stuff is PERFECT for pale skin – it’s super fine and doesn’t look like you’re wearing anything. I just bought another one because I love it so much. It’s great to keep in your bag too for touch ups.

Eyeliner – I stole Emily of Haus of Hounds‘ idea and used Jeffree Star Cosmetics black lipstick in “Weirdo” for eyeliner – it is the only thing I’ve found that works for my oily, hooded lids!

Cheeks – NARS Unfiltered II blush palette –  I used Undefeated and Power Play. Sad update – June 2017 – NARS is no longer cruelty free – the company has decided to sell in China, a country that requires animal testing. Click here for details.

Brows – Believe it or not – no brow makeup at all! Just microblading by Daria Chuprys. Click here to read my story!

Prep and Application – And of course, I used lots of NYX and Furless makeup brushes, my trusty Beauty Blender (I have the one that comes with the little stand when you’re not using it or when it’s drying – love it!) and Urban Decay Quickie Fix Prep Spray, De-Slick Primer and All Nighter Setting Spray.

Hair – The ONLY product I need to get big curls simply by scrunching with damp hair is Paul Mitchell Ultimate Wave Cream Gel – seriously holy grail status – I don’t ever want to be without this stuff!

NYX Micellar Water

And after we got home, I took it off with NYX Stripped Off Micellar Water (I was just telling you guys how much I love micellar waters and now I have a new one to love from NYX – and the price is RIGHT!), Prolong Eyelash Extension Cleanser and then spritzed with some Skindinavia Post Makeup Recovery Spray – I love that it has zinc and other minerals to help fight acne. I’m a little unsure of why they included dimethicone in the formula, but so far it hasn’t caused any issues for my VERY acne-prone skin.

I’m also excited to try out this makeup brush cleaning pad from NYX (pictured above) – I’ll let you know what I think. Be sure to follow me on Instagram, where I do a lot of “microblogging” – mini reviews!
