Bomasense Mango Lotion and Body Wash

Bomasense Mango Review

BomaSense is a natural, cruelty-free hair and skin care line. Founder Matia Brizman, who holds a Ph.D. in Classical Chinese Medicine, developed the line based on the principle that what we put in or on our bodies has a profound effect on our overall well-being. I received two products to try: the Liquid Face and Body Wash and the Face and Body Lotion. I have the Mango version, but both of these products also come in Lavender and Unscented. Brizman recommends the Unscented version for those with very sensitive skin.

If, like me, heavy, artificial fragrances give you headaches or irritate your skin, you’ll like the way that BomaSense does fragrance. The mango scent is light, pleasant, and dissipated within fifteen minutes or so – meaning, for me, no headaches and no itchy skin! If you favor stronger scents that linger, a la The Body Shop’s Mango line, you may find this one too light.

In addition to the mango, there’s another detectable scent that I can’t identify, but I’ve smelled it before in other natural products. It’s an earthy, but not herbal, scent. I’m not sure it’s intentional or the result of a particular combination of all-natural ingredients. Personally, it’s not my favorite, but it’s not overpowering.

Both products have a thin, lightweight consistency yet are packed full of nourishing ingredients, including aloe vera, jojoba oil, and shea butter. The Face and Body Lotion absorbs into skin quickly and feels silky and non-greasy. The Face and Body Wash is equally smooth and left my skin feeling clean but not dry.

I find that cleansers with oils are one of the most effective ways to clean my makeup brushes, so when I saw the Face and Body Wash contains coconut and castor oils, I decided to test it as a brush cleanser. The results were impressive! A pea-sized drop of the BomaSense Wash was all I needed to clean even my dirtiest brushes quickly and gently.

The face/body wash is vegan, but the lotion is not (beeswax is an ingredient).

Overall, I would definitely recommend BomaSense. I love that by purchasing from this line, you know you’re supporting healthy products that are safe – both for your skin and for animals!
