Last week I went to two different salons to get a cut and color – in one day. And OHMYGOD was it worth it! Seems weird, but think about it – cutting hair and coloring hair are two very different things. I’d rather go to two different experts than one person who does one thing well and the other – just gets by. In my life and in my business, I believe in hiring people who are amazing at what they do. And not pigeonholing people into doing things for which they don’t excel.
Anyway, let me tell you about these amazing hair experts. I kind of don’t want to share my girls with the world, but hopefully once the secret is out, I won’t have trouble making appointments with them!
Lisa Oliver
First is Lisa Oliver who is stationed at the Rossano Ferretti Hair Spa in Beverly Hills. She has 30 years of hair experience in Beverly Hills and West Hollywood, including her years at Sally Hershberger Salon. People fly from across the country to have Lisa do their hair. She is super sweet and friendly. I’ve only been to the salon to see Lisa but she made it feel completely unpretentious – amazing for a salon in Beverly Hills! You know who you are “OTHER Beverly Hills salons!” Lisa listened to what I wanted and mixed up a cocktail of color that is PERFECT for fall. I had a brighter red before, but it had washed out, so I was looking for something a little darker. She added a mix of warm and cool colors that ended up being perfect for my skin tone. Even though Lisa is in demand and had other clients, she and her assistants made me feel welcome and they were able to get me in and out of the chair in record time.

Jeannine Brousseau
After my color, I went to Jeannine Brousseau at Freshen Studio in West Hollywood. She’s got an adorable, very private studio tucked into a group of businesses with a very modern meets old school New Orleans vibe. She works alone and sees one client at a time. When you meet Jeannine, you can clearly see that she is an artist. She’s quiet and thoughtful, and she works on your hair as if it were a living sculpture. She works mainly on dry hair, but sometimes she’ll spray the hair a bit, or work on completely wet hair, depending on her needs. She doesn’t put anyone into a time slot (i.e. you have one hour and that’s it), but instead the hair is done when it’s done!
Since I had my hair blown straight before I went to see her, I wasn’t sure she’d be able to tell how my wavy hair naturally fell when it wasn’t straightened. I think she may be a wizard, because she got it EXACTLY right. When I took the pic above, my hair was still straight, but the next day, I washed, and conditioned with Briogeo curling conditioner (really good stuff BTW – review coming soon!). I scrunched my hair a bit and let it air dry. I even slept on it. When I woke up, my curls fell perfectly into place! I was pleasantly surprised! This doesn’t usually happen!
Jeannine has worked on celebs such as Winona Ryder, KD Lang, Beck (remember all the major hair changes Beck went through? That was Jeannine.), and other film industry heavyweights – on camera and off. Her rates are not the cheapest, but she offers a FREE “freshen up” cut mid-way between regular cuts. So, after 4 weeks or so, you can make an appointment for a quickie cut. Jeannine views your hair as a living organism that is constantly moving. She keeps you looking good all the time!
Jeannine uses many products including DermOrganic and Cabella.
You can park in the Collar & Leash parking lot (in the spots that don’t say Collar & Leash only!) – then go upstairs and she’s all the way in the back on the right-hand side.

Jeannine’s cuts are normally $225 (including the free freshen up cut), but if you mention My Beauty Bunny, your first visit will be $195. Your hair is something you wear EVERY DAY so make it look good!

I was in a very bad car accident that had literally crushed my face. While in the hospital I underwent a12 hour surgery to rebuild and reshape my face.. The surgery went fine but it left me with severe scars. The surgeon also had my head shaved for the surgery. I came home with almost no hair and tons of scars that I couldn’t hide behind hair since I had none. It took me 3 years to grow my hair out to the middle of my back ( yes people still think I had extensions since it grew so quickly) my entire life my hair grows insanely quick. I’m able to hide behind my hair now but I’ve gotten to the point where I’ve finally have found myself admits the scaring and no longer want to hinde behind my hair… I would love for someone as talented as her to ” do my hair” and make me feel like a bombshell again… Your so lucky to have been able to experience that and to walk out feeling like a goddess. ” that’s what I tell my husband ” that I wan to be a goddess” .good for you sincerely

Sounds like a wonderful experience you had there. A stylist that flies because of customer’s booking. That’s wow. She did a fine job on your hair. I like your hair color, looks good on you. Your skintone glows more with the crimson hair 🙂
