Barefoot Venus

The Canadian brand Barefoot Venus is a cruelty -free brand that makes the most delicious bath and body products. I love the company philosophy: “Encouraging a lifestyle of beauty and wellness through indulgence in the simple pleasures of our bath and body experience.” Count me in!

All Barefoot Venus products are natural and formulated without parabens, propylene glycol, mineral oil, synthetic colors and sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS). While browsing the website, I was drawn in by the charming packaging and the wide selection, but when I started reading the descriptions of the 16 different scents, I was hooked!

I normally don’t like food-y scents, so it was a pleasant surprise that Lemon Freckle turned out to be a refreshing and uplifting scent and so unique. Lemon scents tend to be overpowering or have a plastic synthetic smell to them, but Lemon Freckle smells like homemade lemonade with a touch of vanilla. I’m reminded of lazy summer days sipping lemonade on the porch, watching the neighborhood kids run through the sprinkler. I tried two offerings in the Lemon Freckle scent:

Lemon Freckle Moisturizing Wash – special skin caring ingredients including Aloe Vera and Vitamin E respect your skin as they gently cleanse. This lathers nicely and my skin doesn’t feel dry or tight after my shower. Available in a travel friendly duo with the lotion for $10 or an 8oz. size for $14.99

Lemon Freckle Body Lotion – natural extract of cornflower, fortified with vitamins A, D & E, will leave your skin soft, smooth and healthy looking. I love this ultra moisturizing lotion because it’s not greasy and absorbs quickly but my skin stays hydrated all day long. Available in a duo for $10 or 8 oz. for $17.99.

Lemon Freckle is offered in Bubbling Bath, Dream Soak, Moisturizing Wash, Body Lotion and Powder. If you decide to indulge, don’t blame me if you develop a craving for lemon chiffon cake!
