Aluminum Free Deodorants

in Body, Men on 11/24/13

For those of you who read our post about DermaDoctor cruelty free deodorant and anti-perspirant, and said, “Okay that’s great – but I want an aluminum free deodorant’ – read on my friends! Here are some tried and tested cruelty free deodorants (not anti-perspirants, which means you’ll still sweat, but you won’t be stinky).

margarita bloom deodorant review

Margarita Bloom aluminum-free deodorants come in gorgeous, girly packaging and fun scents like Ravishing Rosalee Rose, Strawberry Angel Cake and Untamed Dame Lemon Pound Cake. The rose scent is my fave, because I love the smell of roses! Margarita Bloom is a wonderful cruelty free company with a retro, pin-up girl vibe. I don’t recommend giving anyone deodorant as a gift, but I DO recommend checking out their other more gift-worthy products this holiday season. And while you’re there, get yourself some deodorant so you’ll smell wonderful during all those holiday parties!

Zero Deodorant Cruelty Free

3Q Cosmetics makes a simple, but effective deodorant called Zero. It smells great, and has kaolin clay, tea tree oil and baking soda to absorb sweat and kill odors. Coconut oil, calendula, Vit E, and beeswax help it glide on easily and protect your skin. Lavender and frankincense essential oils make your pits smell great! The scent is fresh, and male or female friendly. The product is cruelty free and vegetarian, but not vegan.

Ingredients: Coconut Oil, Kaolin Clay, Baking Soda, Beeswax, Zinc Oxide, Calendula Oil, Vitamin E, Lecithin, Lavender, Tea Tree and Frankincense Essential Oil

Schmidt's Deodorant

Schmidt’s Deodorant is a great aluminum-free vegan option. Schmidt’s has a unique and enticing range of natural scent combinations like Bergamot + Lime, Cedarwood + Juniper, Ylang-Ylang + Calendula, Lavender + Sage and Fragrance-Free, Schmidt’s Deodorant. No parabens, phthalates or propelyne glycol. I received the sample pictured above in my Vegan Cuts box.

What other cruelty free deodorants have you tried?

Thanks so much for this post! I’m always looking for new aluminum free deodorants, since it’s so hard to find ones that are just as effective. I’ve had the most success with Crystal Body Deodorant (especially the stick, more than the liquid version), it takes some getting used to, since it’s basically a block of salt, but it really does work. I’ve also tried Lush, but theirs still caused a rash and didn’t work very well either. One of the next ones on my list to try is Dermalogica’s.

Crystal is also great because it’s the same price as other drugstore deodorants and can be found in drugstores too! Only aluminum free one I’ve been able to find at a CVS or Walgreens.

I have used Lafe’s roll on and that was ok, right now I make my own! I have heard of schmidt’s and I want to try it someday!

Hmm my comment didn’t save..I use crystal deodorant, and my boyfriend uses the men’s version “the rock” they have liquid and crystal types so if you like to swipe with an actual stick the crystal just gets run under cold water and then used. The liquid is in roll on. I love them both, they do the trick. However, I would love to make a DIY version that is lightly scented with gardenia and coconut. Or can some awesome brand above make one scented like that? I would be in heaven!

I’ve tried the lavanilla ones and don’t feel they do anything for me . They smell nice and fresh but die after a few hours so I keep that one as a back up at work when I need extra swipes.

I like Bubble & Bee’s Pit Putty creams. I also found a spray I like – Crystal Rock. Both work pretty well.

I’ve experimented with Margarita Bloom but it never seems to work as effectively for me…Different strokes for different folks!

I’m a big-time Lavilin customer. Love the brand and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new deodorant.

There is no other best deodorant to use than aluminum free deodorants, they are good for health. I recommend toms products.

    I have been using Lavilin
for nearly a decade, both as an underarm and foot deodorant. I love it, but my
husband’s body doesn’t react as well to the product.
