Thursdays with Cheeky Rox: Anastasia Beverly Hills Master Palette by Mario

Cruelty free makeup brand, Anastasia Beverly Hills just launched a brand new palette in collaboration with celebrity makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic (a.k.a @MakeupbyMario). The palette is fittingly called The Master Palette by Mario. Mario has been one of Kim Kardashian’s makeup artists for years and now has a huge social media following – needless to say, this palette has been highly anticipated by many! I was super excited and definitely wanted to get my hands on the palette so I could give you guys the inside scoop on the good, the bad and everything in between.A full review and swatches of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Master Palette by Mario. Plus, a video defining whether or not the palette is a hit or miss. There are twelve beautiful shadows with a mixture of mattes and shimmers in the Master Palette by Mario. Both the matte and shimmer formulas are super pigmented! I would even say some of the shimmers have a metallic/foiled finish. Just look at how nicely they swatch – so gorgeous! The color range is perfect for fall as there are lots of warm earthy shades. I can definitely see myself using every single one of these eyeshadows – they’re just all so pretty! The only shades that are missing in my opinion are a creamy white and a matte black. Those are two essentials for me when it comes to eye makeup, so I’d still have to supplement the palette with other shadows. That being said, I really do love the color range other than that detail.

The palette also contains a dual-ended eyeshadow brush which is a huge plus for me! You don’t see that too often these days and the best part is that the brush actually works well! It’s not one of those cheap brushes that you end up losing or throwing away. I use one end of the brush to pack on color, then blend it out with the other side and I genuinely like how the brush applies my shadow.

One thing I wanted to mention is that I was getting a bit of fallout when using some of the darker shimmer shades. I find this often happens when the formula is super creamy and pigmented. Personally, I can work around that by doing my eye makeup before my face makeup or using a shadow shield, but I did want to mention it. In my mind, if a shadow has a unique shade and a pigmented formula, it’s worth trying to work around fallout!

So, the verdict? The Anastasia Beverly Hills Master Palette by Mario is a hit! The color range is beautiful and all of the shadows are super pigmented, which makes it easy for me to overlook the fallout I was getting with some shades. I can definitely see myself using this palette tons!

I have plenty of palettes with matte blacks so I think I need this!
