Meet Priscilla Vega: Fashion, Motherhood, and Female-Owned Brands
Today, we’re excited to chat with Priscilla Vega, the founder of PR Vega—a platform dedicated to uplifting female-owned brands. Not only does she do amazing work in the fashion industry, but she also balances it all while being a fantastic mom. Now, she’s sharing her weekly wardrobe favorites. Enjoy! 😊
Finding Identity Through Fashion
Growing up in a small town (though city kids might relate too), clothing was more than just fabric—it was a way to express who you were, your friendships, and your interests. I remember packing for college and realizing: No one here knows the “small-town Priscilla.” I could completely reinvent my style, and no one would bat an eye. It was my chance to redefine myself.
Even with that realization, I wasn’t sure who I wanted to be. So, I started college with my old wardrobe but a newfound appreciation for fashion as self-expression. I experimented with different looks—from sorority chic (I wasn’t in one, but I was on the dance team) to free-spirited reggae vibes. Trying new styles helped me discover my love for fashion experimentation.
The Power of Effortless Style
After college, I landed a corporate job in San Francisco. At first, I felt pressure to “dress the part”—until a woman walked in with the most effortless style. She was confident, casual, and always looked perfect, whether in a beret, a dress, or a suit. That’s when it clicked: personal style isn’t about fitting a mold—it’s about wearing what makes you feel your best.
Fashion with Intention
Later, in LA, I connected with stylists, designers, and boutique owners. My style evolved again as I learned the importance of shopping with purpose. Fashion can be a powerful tool—now, I prioritize female-owned, local, or sustainable brands. Vintage and secondhand shopping have even become a fun hobby! I love imagining a piece’s history and finding timeless treasures.
As a mom and publicist for fashion/beauty brands, I’m proud of how fashion has shaped my journey. It’s a big part of my story, and looking back at this evolution brings me joy.
My Week in Outfits
1. Work-From-Home Athleisure
Between running my agency, virtual school, and parenting, my days are packed. But I always try to squeeze in a workout! My go-to is Girlfriend Collective—their leggings fit my 5’1″ frame perfectly (no bunching!), and their tops are ideal for runs or Peloton sessions. Some days, I end up wearing them all day—no shame!
2. Pre-Pandemic Uniform: Vintage Levi’s + Ozma Tees
Before lockdown, I lived in vintage Levi’s and Ozma of California tees. Their shirts have a raw, textured feel (you can see the natural fibers!), and they’re sustainably made. They get even better with each wash—perfectly imperfect. I miss wearing this combo with jeans, but I still pair the tees with lounge pants.
3. The Jumpsuit Obsession
Jumpsuits are everywhere, but Rachel Pally’s Troy jumpsuit is life-changing. I own two and ask myself daily, “Is today a Troy day?” Rachel, a dear friend and LA designer, inspired my love for women-owned brands. Her pieces remind me to shop intentionally and support labels I believe in.
4. California Cool with Jenni Kayne
When I’m not in a jumpsuit, you’ll find me in Jenni Kayne. The brand embodies effortless California style—think silk slip dresses, cashmere sweaters, and chic mules. Every piece is timeless, and I always feel confident wearing them.
5. Supporting Female Entrepreneurs
I love mixing in pieces from other incredible women-led brands:
-
- Winter Water Factory (soft, organic cotton—my kids live in their clothes, but I steal the sweats sometimes!)
- Sister Katie (gorgeous cotton gauze loungewear—perfect for errands or nights out)
- Grayson (flawless button-ups from a sustainable brand that supports women’s nonprofits)
